Ich arbeite an der Schnittstelle von Recht, Technologie und Organisation.
Seit über zwanzig Jahren begleite ich Unternehmen, Investoren und Führungsteams in digitalen und regulierten Umgebungen – in Kanzleien, als General Counsel und als Teil von Management-Teams.

 

Meine Erfahrung umfasst:

  • internationale M&A- und Private-Equity-Transaktionen

  • Aufbau und Weiterentwicklung von Governance- und Compliance-Strukturen

  • Integration technischer, regulatorischer und organisatorischer Anforderungen

  • Zusammenarbeit mit interdisziplinären Teams aus Engineering, Security, Product und Management

 

Ich habe sowohl in Kanzleien als auch in Unternehmen und Transaktionsprozessen gearbeitet – und kenne deshalb die Lücke zwischen rechtlicher Bewertung, organisatorischer Realität und operativer Umsetzung.

 

Ein System sollte so gestaltet sein, dass es stabil funktioniert, Entscheidungen trägt und Wachstum ermöglicht.

Ich verbinde juristische Präzision mit technischem Verständnis und einer strukturellen Sicht auf Organisationen. Diese Kombination ermöglicht eine Umsetzung regulatorischer Anforderungen, die Unternehmen stärkt und weiterentwickelt.

Since twenty years I have had the pleasure of working with Nicole Battistini-Kohler in different roles; first as dear colleague and peer in the corporate team of Taylor Wessing and over the last years in her role as general counsel at Xempus. Nicole is truly outstanding! She's the first counsel I worked with that is focused on solutions instead of problems. She's giving clear recommendations what to do instead of listing just dozens of reasons why things are risky or potentially couldn't work. This was eye-opening for me and brought the collaboration between legal and technology to a new level, way more efficient than anything I have experienced before.
She's an extremely fast learner with the ability to quickly identify the real issues and not being fooled by symptoms. With her structured way of working and her sharp mind she has successfully proven to be able to solve virtually any problem even outside the legal domain.
I highly appreciate her direct and clear way of communication, no hiding behing buzzwords or extensive legal phrases. Always straight to the point and, most importantly, actionable.

Nicole and I have worked together on several tech projects, including the migration of our data centre, the introduction of a SIEM (Security Information Management and Event Management) system, the preparation and implementation of ISO 27001 audits, and the development and implementation of compliance standards. In these projects, I advised on the use of services, service providers and technical solutions. I have come to know Nicole as an innovative doer and problem solver who goes to great lengths for the good of the company and her team. She has excellent technical skills and is able to quickly familiarise herself with unfamiliar topics and is a very good person.

I very much appreciate the cooperation with Ms. Battistini-Kohler, as there is always a clear focus on the common goal. This is always under the premise of what is legally necessary and practically feasible. My personal thanks for a great teaming and the trust in the cooperation.

I can fully recommend Nicole, our General Counsel at Xempus. Her legal expertise is exceptional and she was always able to explain legal topics in an easy understandable manner. But what truly sets her apart is her ability to bridge gaps and foster collaboration across teams.
Recently, Nicole played an important role in our IT teams, helping them to re-align. Nicole and I worked together for several months to support the IT department with a reorganisation, which involved a lot of team building, larger and smaller sub-projects and networking with other teams such as ISO, IT security, data protection, legal and compliance. I found Nicole to be very goal orientated, motivating and a great source of direction for the team, with a direct line to management, which made collaboration and decision making much easier. She meets people at eye level, puts herself in their shoes and treats them with respect. Working with Nicole is fun and keeps the team together.

Nicole, myself, and our Accounting team work closely together since many years. Over time, we have worked ourselves through numerous annual financial statement audits, financing rounds (and attached bookings), mergers, acquisitions, a hive down and some debt financing as well as the introduction of SAP and SAP audit in the context of the annual financial statements audit. Furthermore, we work together when it comes to Compliance policies and internal control systems. Insurance coverage is another of our common topics. Nicole has an immense knowledge in amazingly many areas and a super kind and constructive way to work with other people. She works at a very high quality level and is an extremely nice person. The solutions proposed by her are highly focused on the going concern of the company.
