NBK Legal · Nicole Battistini-Kohler

Together, we look at your company through the eyes of whoever examines it next — and then build the order that holds.

A law firm & Fractional General Counsel — I work from the inside, like your legal department on demand.

A problem that won't move — and the suspicion that it's rooted in the legal.

Too little time, too little team, too much regulation — and when it goes wrong, you are liable. That's the situation. Its origin often sits where law, technology and organisation interlock. I help you solve it — and stay until the solution holds and has landed in the organisation.

An ordinary case — one layer deeper

„We urgently need an AI policy.“

The call is almost always the same: „The board is asking about our AI policy — could you quickly write us one?“

Before I write anything, I look at what's actually going on in the house. The picture is usually the same: Marketing is paying for three AI tools on a personal credit card. Someone in HR has pasted the list of redundancy candidates into a chatbot, „just to summarise it“. Two developers have wired an unvetted model to the customer data.

A policy would have prevented none of it. The missing document was never the problem. The problem was: anyone could buy on their own — and no one had a reason not to.

What looked like a legal matter was a question of behaviour and incentive. That's how I look at every „urgent“ problem first — one layer beneath where everyone else is looking.

And when I'm not the right address — a mass-litigation matter, a mega-transaction apparatus, a hyper-specialised question — I'll tell you, and I'll tell you who is. For the first three I don't even have to send you away: I bring the apparatus in, from a network built over fifteen years in Big Law.

Make tomorrow's version of this problem look different.
